sailing

I went sail boat racing for the first time last summer. It was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations.

What stands out to me is how little wind there was that day. We had to find the wind with sail and let it fill the canvas to pull us forward. We could have put our focus on why the wind wasn’t fast enough or from the right direction. There was a singular objective, which was to catch as much wind as possibly, minimize the drag on the boat and move as quickly as we can. The sailor who deals with the situation he is handed the best wins the race every time. And so too in life.
